Whom Do You Seek (Acts 2:36-41/Jn.20:11-18)
This was the question that Jesus put to Mary when she came looking for Him at the tomb. She was deeply troubled after the death of Jesus, but because of the love she has for Him, she went to the grave to see the Body of Jesus that was buried in the tomb, but she met the Living Christ who has risen.
The story shows us that if we seek Jesus with our whole heart we will surely find Him. Jesus is alive and not dead, therefore if we are going to seek Him it must be with our whole heart and we must seek Him among the living and not among the dead.
The truth is that many of us are seeking so many things unreal and that cannot bring any good to us. Most times we seek them to the detriment of our faith and in extreme cases we are lost in the search of that which is anti-Christ.
Jesus called Mary and she recognised His voice at once. When we seek Jesus with our whole heart we will find Him and when we find Him He will call us by name and we will be able to hear his voice and carry out the instructions He gives us.
We must seek the Lord while He may be found and we must do the needful when we find Him. We must let Him speak to us and we must listen and obey His commands. If what you are seeking is not Christ like or Christ Himself, please turn around, change your course and begin to seek Jesus, for He is risen and by the power of His resurrection we can conquer all things.
Take time and answer this question honestly, whom do you seek? or what do you seek? If what you seek does not have a link to God you can never find lasting fulfilment, but if it is in line with what God wants, then you will find fulfilment. Make it your target today to go seeking Jesus and be rest assured that you will find Him, for everyone who seeks will find.
Let us pray: Lord Jesus, Help me to sincerely seek you with my whole heart and when I do may I find you and be ready to do what you will. Amen.
