Return to the Lord and Find Forgiveness (Micah 7:14-15,18-20/Ps.103/Lk.15:1-3,11-32

"I will arise and go to my Father, and I will say to Him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you;  I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me as one of your hired servants" Luke 15: 18-19

This season is one in which we are expected to make the movement  back to God by way of repentance.

The story of the prodigal son in the gospel reading highlights the need for us to constantly return to God so that we can find mercy and forgiveness. He realised that he has offended his father and he did not waste anytime to make a turn around to come back to his Father to seek for forgiveness and mercy.

As human beings we sin against God and our fellow human beings from time to time and we are supposed to return to the Lord and acknowledge our sins before Him so that we will receive forgiveness. We do not need to stay away from God in fear or because of shame and as a result we will not be able to access the compassion and mercy of the Lord that waits for us.

When we drift away from the path of holiness we will.miss our path, but if we repent and make amends we will return back to God who is waiting for us to turn away from our sinful way and live again in his presence.

we must rise from wherever we have fallen into to return back to the Lord and find peace and happiness. God is waiting for us and He is full of mercy and compassion. He does not want us to die in our sins, but He wills that we will turn away from our evil ways and live.

We must rise for the grace of the Lord has been given to us. we must turn around and come to Him and begin to live a good life. we must also help others to repent  you showing them love and care even when we know their weakness.

Any delay may be dangerous, because we may now begin to live a life that is very inimical to our faith. we must not fail to rise and come back to God no matter how great and grave our sins may be. The Mercy of God will wash us clean if we draw closer to God, confess our sins and resolve to start afresh and this is the time to begin anew.

Let Us Pray: Lord Jesus Christ, give me the grace to rise from my sins and come back to you. May your mercy save me and restore me to the path of holiness. Amen
