Obedience to God's voice is the key to happiness(Jer. 7:23-28/Ps.95/Luke11:14-23)

"This command I gave my people, obey my voice and I will be your God and you shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you" Jeremiah 7: 23

The Lord demands loyalty from us and if we claim to belong to Him, we must be ready to obey His voice and give heed to His commands. We must give him our hearts and be open to Him in such a way that He will reign in us and lead us in the path of righteousness.
God always keeps his path of the covenant he entered into with us,  but in most cases we are found wanting when it comes to being faithful to the terms of the covenant. he has already given us the path to follow and He had also shown us what to do in order to belong to Him. Therefore, it lies on us to give heed to His voice and obey Him and in doing that we make the Lord to come closer to us and stay with us and we will be happy.

We will know what the Lord expects of us when we take time to read and study the Scripture and in doing that we will get able to see what He needs us to do in order to be a people for Him.

We must strive to be with the Lord and not harden our hearts like the religious leaders did in the gospel reading. They experienced Jesus' miracle but they refused to obey him. We must not be like them. we must trust in Jesus and believe in Him. We must not let anything separate us from Him. He must reign in our lives always and we must be ready to submit ourselves under His authority and by so doing we will be used by Him to win souls to God.

Our happiness in this life will come when we obey God's voice and when we do His will. This season is a time to do it and when we do it we will be able live a happy life here on earth and here after.

Let Us Pray: Lord Jesus Christ, give me the grace to listen to your voice and to keep your commandment always. May your mercy and love be upon me always. Amen.
