God's House Should be A place of Prayer (Exo. 20:1-17/Ps.19/1Cor.1:22-25/John.2:13-25)

"Take these things away; you shall not make my Father's house a house of trade" John 2:16

Today we see Jesus in the gospel reading demonstrate with zeal How we should protect and respect what we value. He drove away all those who turned His Father's house into a place of business.

He knew that what they were doing is wrong and He did not compromise, but took them up immediately and chased them away, thereby restoring sanity to God's house.

When we come to Church we come to worship God and not to serve money or get hooked up with fantasies. The Temple is a place for deep spiritual business and we should not make it to be otherwise because of our quest and love for material possession. It is no longer a hidden truth that these days many so ministers do a lot of things in the name of God just for the monetary gain and they do not mind the lies they tell to the gullible Christians who can believe anything.

We are God's temple and we must make our hearts pure always. We must sweep away every dirt that will not help us to stay connected to God. Jesus has shown us an example to follow and we must not let anything stop us from doing that. Keeping God's commandment should be done out of love for God who has shown us love and we must be rest assured that it is for our own good.

This season is a time to purify ourselves and get rid of anything that represents dirt (sin) In our lives and make our hearts clean and pure to be able to connect with Jesus. To be able to do this we must be be courageous like Jesus and call a spade a spade. We must stick to what is truth and right and forget about using our positions to manipulate others in order to gain material things.

Now is the time to make amends and seek the face of Jesus once again as we desire to return to Him. He is compassionate and love and He will help us become strong. If we have fallen and failed many times to keep His commandments, we have an opportunity to rise up, tell ourselves the truth and begin to do the clean up needed to make us return back to Him and when we do, we will be happy and definitely find the peace we crave for in our heart and soul.

Let Us Pray: Lord Jesus Christ, give me the grace to be courageous to fight temptations and the things that make me disobey you and act against your commandments. May I be a worthy temple for you always. Amen.
